Water Quality in Ghana

Job Creation

Numerous opportunities exist in the water sector for people (especially the youth) to leverage and earn decent livelihood. We believe that what matters is to increase awareness and whip up their interest to pursue a career in a potentially, high yielding but unexplored area.

The Job Creation of WaHTEG revolves around:

  1. addressing water access
  2. solving water quality related health issues
  3. creating opportunities for gainful employment
  4. bringing innovation into the water supply and management strategies, and
  5. increasing public awareness of related initiatives/activities of national institutions and partners.

For many years, job creation in the water sector has not received adequate attention in the public space and discourse aside the regular talk around water supply challenges. We leverage on the challenges of water access and unsafe drinking water to create employment targeting the youth

WaHTEG transforms water access and water quality management beyond the popular notion of a social need to a purposeful vehicle for job creation. In this regard, our Water Creates Jobs Framework outlines areas of employment that the interested applicant can pursue as a career.  The Framework contains 6 viable areas:
